Rental Terms and Conditions

Reservations:

  • All reservations are made according to the vehicle category and not for a specific model.
  • In case of non-availability of a vehicle in the category pre-selected by the customer, always with reference to a confirmed reservation, SALAMIS RENT A CAR reserves the right to provide the customer with a car of a higher category, without charge to the customer.

Driver:

  • Minimum age 19 years to use vehicles as long as you hold a driving licence for at least 1 year.

Driver's licence:

  • It is required to present a valid driver's licence for the Greek territory and the EU, which has been issued at least 1 year before the start date of the lease.
  • Citizens of non-EU countries are required to have a valid International Driving Permit, together with the presentation of their national driving licence.

Fines:

  • Fines resulting from violations of the Road Traffic Code are borne by the Lessee.
  • The Lessee additionally undertakes, on a case-by-case basis, the payment of management costs.

Payment method:

  • The renter is required to provide a debit/credit card as a guarantee for the rental, even if payment is made in cash.
  • Reservation is prepaid.

Warranty:

  • For rentals in Greece, upon receipt of the vehicle, a deposit amount will be reserved on the driver's credit/debit card, for each vehicle, which will be returned in full at the end of the rental, as long as no other charges arise.
  • The release of the amount can take up to 5 days, depending on the issuing bank of the card.
  • The amount of the deposit varies by vehicle category.

In more detail:

  1. SMALL category : €100.00,
  2. MEDIUM category: €100.00,
  3. SUV category : €100.00,
  4. Category Private Passenger Vehicle : €100.00

Cancellations

  • The cancellation of the reservation must be made at least seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled start date and time of the vehicle rental, (always according to the exact time of reservation), as it was carried out in the company's reservation system.
  • If you wish to cancel a reservation, you can contact the company.

The following charges will apply to booking cancellations:

  1. In the event of a cancellation notice received by Vstar at least seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled start of the vehicle rental, any amount paid in advance will be refunded.
  2. In the event of a cancellation notice received by Vstar less than seventy-two (72) hours before the scheduled start of the vehicle rental, no amount of money will be refunded, that may have been paid in advance.

Deliveries – Collections outside of opening hours at the stations:

Customer charge € 30 + VAT.

Additional driver:

The maximum number of drivers is set at 2 people without extra charges.

Child seat:

The price for a child seat is set at €5 + VAT / day upon customer request and company availability.

Snow chains:

The price for snow chains is set at €10 + VAT / day upon customer request and company availability.

Fuel:

  • The lessee must return the car with the same amount of fuel that he received.
  • In the case of returning the car with a smaller amount of fuel than the original (i.e. the amount of fuel the customer received the vehicle with) the customer is charged for the difference in fuel and a service fee of €15 + VAT.
  • No compensation is provided for the customer if the car is returned with a larger amount of fuel than was received.
  • Vehicles are delivered with a full tank.

Kilometers:

  • For rentals longer than 3 days, free mileage of 70km / day up to 2500km is provided.
  • For rentals of less than 3 days, the prices include a 150 km / day restriction.
  • In this last case, if the lessee wants free kilometers then he can choose the free kilometers package with a fee according to the respective price list.
  • Otherwise, every additional kilometer over 150 km / day will be charged to the customer when returning the vehicle with a fee according to the respective price list per category.

Accident:

  • In the event of an accident, the customer is charged €15 + VAT for the costs of managing the accident file.

INSURANCE: CDW – Exemption from payment of damage caused:

The renter is fully released from responsibility for any damage to the car:

  1. above €500 + VAT if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company's contract for the SMALL, ELECTRIC SMALL categories
  2. over €500 + VAT if he accepts and signs the relevant terms of the company's contract for the MEDIUM categories
  3. over €500 + VAT if you accept and sign the relevant terms of the company's contract for the SUV categories.
  • A necessary condition for the release of liability, that the damage is not demonstrably due to a violation of the Road Traffic Code.

Insured Limits:

  1. Vehicles are insured against third parties (excluding the driver) for death and bodily injury up to one million two hundred twenty thousand euros (€1,300,000.00) per accident.
  2.  and for material damage to third parties (excluding the SALAMIS vehicle) up to the amount of one million two hundred and twenty thousand euros (€1,300,000.00).
  • In the event of a change to the above limits, the minimum limits will always apply, as determined by the current Greek legislation.
  • Damages that exceed the limit of the insurance coverage or are excluded from it, will be paid in full by the customer.
  • Also, they are completely free of crystal breakage with an amount (€1000 thousand).

LW: Tire coverage:

  • The renter is fully responsible for any damage to the tires or underbody.

Theft / Fire:

  • The renter is fully released from responsibility for any damage to the car in case of fire or theft.
  • The main condition for the above coverage is the absence of negligence, even slight, or the commission of illegal acts during the rental of the vehicle.

Οδική Βοήθεια:

  • Τα αυτοκίνητα της SALAMIS RENT A CAR καλύπτονται 24 ώρες από οδική βοήθεια.
  • Τα στοιχεία επικοινωνίας της οδικής βοήθειας αναγράφονται στο μισθωτήριο συμβόλαιο.

Car transport across borders:

  • It is prohibited to transport and drive the car outside the borders of the Greek Territory.

Car transport by ship:

  • The company's written approval is required for transporting the car by ship.

Vehicle GPS: -

  • In the context of the personal data protection policy of the new Regulation 2016/679, we must inform the contracting party/tenant that for reasons of legal interest of our company and more specifically for the safety of vehicles in cases of theft, damage or any other criminal offence, GPS trackers are installed that are activated 24 hours / day.
  • These will be recording discreetly without affecting personal or other data.
  • Our Company does not transmit, share or disclose personal data to third parties.
  • Our company may disclose personal data in order to respond to court, judicial, governmental or law enforcement requests or where required or prudent to comply with applicable law, court orders or the rules or orders of courts or judicial authorities.
  • Disclosures of personal data may also be required for privacy and security audits and/or to investigate or respond to a complaint or security threat.
